Facilities

Killara High School enrolment has grown by more than 25% since 2004. Despite now having 1600 students on site, it has upgraded the quality of its facilities significantly to provide the highest level of educational services and facilities possible.

The NSW Government upgraded all science laboratories in 2009 and student toilet facilities were renovated in 2010.

The P&C has complemented commonwealth and state government upgrades to computing facilities, effectively doubling the number of computers and providing wireless internet access across the campus.

In 2009 the P&C funded a major renovation of existing classroom accommodation in E Block as the first step in a strategic redevelopment plan for the school.

Killara High School and its P&C have made successful submissions to the Department of Education and the state government to construct a new block, which was opened in 2014. This building comprises state of the art technology and visual arts facilities, a Mac lab, and general learning spaces to support 21st century learning.

The next project is the extension and refurbishment of the Lion Library. We have embarked on very significant organisational redevelopment to meet the emerging needs of students and the challenges of a large school.
