If you reside in the catchment area for Killara High School and wish to apply for Year 7 2025 but did not complete an Expression of Interest at your primary school, please click here to apply online.

If you have recently moved to the Killara High School catchment area and you wish to enrol your student in Year 7 2025, please update your residential address at your student’s current primary school and click here to apply online.

If you have already been made an Offer to enrol, and/or have submitted an online application, you will receive a confirmation letter advising you of next steps.

If applicable, and as per the instructions provided in that confirmation letter, please print, complete, and submit the checklist below with copies of all supporting documents.

Temporary residents may be enrolled at a school if the school can accommodate the enrolment. If a school is at capacity, temporary residents must be referred to the next available school/s that can accommodate the enrolment.

If you are a Temporary Resident and you reside in area, we will review your Application to Enrol. Once reviewed, we will inform you of the Department's decision.

1. All overseas applicants must be assessed by the Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre (IEC) before enrolling at Killara High School. Please contact the IEC at 02 9411 5288 for an appointment.
2. For information on how to apply for an Authority to Enrol or any other aspect of the Temporary Visa process, please visit the Temporary Residents Program. For instructions on how to register on the DE International Parent Portal, please refer to this Quick Reference Guide. 
   
   Please do not proceed to Step 3 until you have been approved to enrol at Killara High School by the IEC AND you have registered with the DEI and applied for an Authority to Enrol.
3. Please download and complete the Application to Enrol in a NSW Government School (currently Temporary Residents cannot complete an online application). 
4. Please also download and complete the Enrolment Document Check List.
5. Deliver the signed Application to Enrol and the completed Enrolment Document Check List (with photocopies of all supporting documents) to Reception at Killara High School. 
   
   Note: Applications will not be reviewed until all documents supporting the Verification of Residential Address section are received. 

Under the Department of Education’s Enrolment of Students in NSW Government Schools policy, all government schools in NSW have a designated local enrolment area with a pre-determined geographical boundary. Students who live within this boundary are entitled to be enrolled at the school. However, students who are temporary residents are not assured enrolment at the school aligned to their home residence and will only be accepted if the school can accommodate the enrolment. This ensures that there are enough places for students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents who reside in their local enrolment area.

Unfortunately, Killara High School is unable to enrol any International students. Dependents of International Students please refer to the application process otlined in the Temporary Visa Holder section on our Enrolments page.

DE International is responsible for the enrolment of International Students in NSW government schools and administers the following programs:

• International Students - HSC Graduate Program (visas 571P and 500P)
• Temporary Resident Program (TRP) - students on Visas other than 571P or 500P including dependents of both 500P visa holders and guardian 590P visa holders

Once your application has been received, we will notify you by email and request submission of the completed Enrolment Document Check List, along with photocopies of all supporting documents. These should be delivered to Reception at Killara High School. 

Note:

1. An enrolment interview will not be scheduled, until all documents supporting the verification of your residential address have been submitted and approved. 
2. All overseas applicants (who have previously been studying in a language other than English)  must be assessed by the Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre (IEC) before enrolling at Killara High School. Please contact the IEC on 02 9411 5288 for an appointment or visit Northern Sydney IEC.

Please DO NOT submit an online application to enrol at Killara High School until you have been approved by the IEC. 

If you are unable to apply online, please download and  complete the Application to Enrol in a NSW Government School. Deliver the completed and signed Application to Enrol and the completed Enrolment Document Check List (with photocopies of all supporting documents) to Reception at Killara High School.

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolments. Please note that out-of-area enrolments are subject to the department’s enrolment policy and the KHS Enrolment Policy.

Check your address on School Finder to see if it is within our local intake area. Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.
