IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please read
for ALL enrolment applications

If you have recently moved house:

  • If your child currently attends a NSW Government school, please update your residential address with them before submitting the application to enrol at Killara High School.
  • Year 7 2026 – if you have not updated your address with your NSW Government primary school first, the application will be withdrawn.
  •  If you do not have utility bills yet you can submit other documents from the checklist (if you still have 100 points in total).

Please refer to the enrolment documents checklist before submitting your enrolment application.

ALL required supporting documentation must be submitted with the application.

Australian / NZ Citizens / Permanent Residents

  • Submit enrolment applications AND ALL supporting documents via the Online Enrolment System.
  • Your application to enrol may be withdrawn or not processed if it does not meet the minimum supporting documents requirements. If this occurs you will need to re-submit the application.

Temporary Residents

  • Send an email to enrolments@khs.nsw.edu.au that includes the enrolment application form AND ATTACH ALL supporting documents.
  • If you are missing any of your documentation, the application will not be processed. In this instance you will need to send a new email with the enrolment application form and all supporting documents attached.

Mandatory Supporting Documents Required

  • 100 points proof of address OR 15 points proof of address for sibling or Year 7 2026 Hebrew applications.  Please note, sibling applications will only be accepted where both students will be enrolled at Killara High School in the same calendar year.
  • Student Identification Documentation
  • Passport / Birth Certificate / Citizenship document
  • Visa documentation (for Permanent and Temporary Residents)
  • Most recent school report

Please note – there is an upload limit of 5 documents per section.  If you need to upload more than 5 documents in one category (proof of address for example), please attach them to a different upload section.

Other Supporting Documents Required (if relevant and available)

  • Current Australian Immunisation Register statement
  • Medical action Plans (for Asthma / Anaphylaxis etc)
  • Learning Support Documents
  • Wellbeing Documents
  • Court Orders


How to re-submit an enrolment application for a local / in area residential address

Please follow the steps below if your enrolment application is withdrawn or not processed due to not meeting the minimum supporting documents requirements:

Australian / NZ Citizens / Permanent Residents

  • Go to the Enrolments page on the Killara High School website, and click on the Online Enrolment System link
  • In the top right-hand corner click Login
  • Login with either the Service NSW Account or email address that submitted the initial application
  • Start a new application
  • Go through each section and make sure all mandatory fields are completed 
  • Navigate to Section 10 (Supporting Documents), and upload ALL mandatory supporting documents required (refer to section above)
  • Navigate to Section 12 (Review).  Complete the declaration and Submit Application.  This will show you the sections that have missing information.  Please go back and complete all mandatory fields in all sections.

How to re-submit an enrolment application for a temporary resident

  • Re-send your initial email to the KHS Enrolments team, ensuring you have attached ALL mandatory supporting documents required (refer to the section above)

Enrolment at Killara High School

Killara High School is aware that some changes have been announced by the Department of Education regarding the catchment area for our school.

Parents of future students at Killara High School are encouraged to use the School Finder website to check for your local school.

If you completed an expression of interest via your primary school, you will be advised in due course about the outcome of your application.  Out of area expression of interest applications will be actioned from the week beginning 12 May 2025 up to week 2 of term 3.

Temporary Residents are unable to submit online enrolment applications.  Please refer to the section for Temporary Residents for further details and information.

Killara High School is currently only able to accept enrolment applications from students that reside within our catchment area.   Please check if your residential address is in our catchment area using the NSW Public School Finder.

Temporary Residents

Currently Killara High School is accepting Temporary Visa Holders.  However, there is no guarantee that this policy will not change in the future.

All applications for students who have been studying overseas must be assessed by the Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre (IEC) before enrolling at Killara High School.  Please contact the IEC at 02 9411 5288 to schedule an appointment.

International Students

Unfortunately, Killara High School is unable to enrol any International students. Dependents of International Students please refer to the application process outlined in the Temporary Visa Holder section on our Enrolments page.

DE International is responsible for the enrolment of International Students in NSW Government schools, and administers the following programs:

  • International Students - HSC Graduate Program (Visas 571P and 500P)
  • Temporary Residents Program (TRP) - students on Visas other than 571P or 500P including dependents of both 500P visa holders and guardian 590P visa holders

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolments. Applications are reviewed by the enrolment panel once each term (approximately in Week 6).

Check your address on School Finder to see if it is within our local intake area. Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.

How to enrol

If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

How to enrol - Year 6 into Year 7

In NSW government schools, applying to move from primary school to high school is a 2-step process that starts with an Expression of Interest. Visit the moving to high school page to learn more about the process.

  • If you have received an offer from our school for placement into Year 7 next year, the next step is to visit online enrolment to proceed with the offer and complete the enrolment application.
  • If you did not submit an expression of interest or are not eligible, visit online enrolment to start a new application to our school.
  • If you submitted your expression of interest using a paper form, or would prefer not to enrol online, use the application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form.

The Temporary Residents Program has information about eligibility and the forms to complete an application.

Distance education

Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.
