The Killara High School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) plays a valuable role in enabling the parents and the community to work together in support of the school and young people.

The P&C operates the school canteen and the school uniform shop with all profits returned to benefit the students. When combined with parent voluntary contributions, the P&C is able to fund programs and investment of over $500,000 annually. There are many facilities around the school including the upgrade of sound and lighting to the hall and Kerrabee Centre, covered outdoor learning areas (COLA’s), the music studios and student conference space that have been built through parent contributions.

Parent contributions have been applied to the school nurse, major classroom refurbishments, provision of outdoor artificial turf areas, TAS laser cutter, water bottle filling stations and support of a variety of educational resources, including funding staffing associated with the ongoing KHS Literacy Programs and the Wellbeing staff. The school’s extensive gardens and outdoor amenities have been developed and maintained by weekend parent working bees. Students have access to a range of technologies from PC's to interactive whiteboards, again thanks to the generosity of parents.

A very high level of sustained parent support for 50 years is a key factor underpinning Killara High School’s success. The P&C and the school greatly appreciate the funds and time volunteered by parents. Many school activities and operations, including the canteen and uniform shop, depend upon the support of parent volunteers. We urge as many parents as possible to give up a little time over the course of a year to assist in the canteen and uniform shop, or assist with a working bee or any other activities around the school.

“Many hands make light work.”

The P&C conducts open meetings twice a term to discuss matters of interest to the school community and to determine the priorities for funding support for the school.

2024 Meetings happen the third Wednesday of each month, except school holidays (check Compass for exact times)
