Our school welcomes enrolments throughout the school year.
Prepare to Enrol
Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our local intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community today. Follow these key steps:
- Refer to Important Information section (below) to determine how to enrol (paper or online)
- Refer to enrolment documentation checklist (below) to review supporting documentation requirements.
- Submit an online or paper application form for temporary residents together with ALL supporting documentation.

Important information regarding enrolling at Killara High School
Enrolment document checklist
Pleaser refer to the attached document requirements before submitting your application.
If you have recently arrived from overseas
Newly arrived students, whose first language is not English, should contact the Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre(IEC) prior to submitting an enrolment application at Killara High School.
The IEC will schedule an English assessment for your student. The outcome of the assessment will determine if you should proceed to submitting an enrolment application at Killara High School.
If you have recently changed your address
If your child currently attends a NSW Government school, please update your residential address with them before submitting the application to enrol at Killara High School.
Year 7 2026 – if you have not updated your address with your NSW Government primary school first, the application will be withdrawn.
If you do not have utility bills yet you can submit other documents from the checklist (if you still have 100 points in total).
ALL required supporting documentation must be submitted with the application.
Australian / NZ Citizens / Permanent Residents
Submit enrolment applications AND ALL supporting documents via the Online Enrolment System.
Your application to enrol may be withdrawn or not processed if it does not meet the minimum supporting documents requirements. If this occurs you will need to re-submit the application.
Please note – there is an upload limit of 5 documents per section. If you need to upload more than 5 documents in one category (proof of address for example), please attach them to a different upload section.
Temporary Residents
Send an email to khsenrolments@det.nsw.edu.au that includes the completed enrolment application form AND ATTACH ALL required supporting documents.
If you are missing any of your documentation, the application will not be processed. In this instance you will need to send a new email with the enrolment application form and all supporting documents attached.

Temporary residents and international students
Currently Killara High School is accepting Temporary Visa Holders. However, there is no guarantee that this policy will not change in the future.
All applications for students who have been studying overseas must be assessed by the Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre (IEC) before enrolling at Killara High School. Please contact the IEC at 02 9411 5288 to schedule an appointment.
Please visit the Temporary Residents Program for further information on the program. For instructions on how to register on the Department of Education International (DEI) Portal please refer to the Quick Reference Guide.

Unfortunately, Killara High School is unable to enrol any International students. Dependents of International Students please refer to the application process outlined in the Temporary Visa Holder section on our Enrolments page.

DE International is responsible for the enrolment of International Students in NSW Government schools, and administers the following programs:
- International Students - HSC Graduate Program (Visas 571P and 500P)
- Temporary Residents Program (TRP) - students on Visas other than 571P or 500P including dependents of both 500P visa holders and guardian 590P visa holders
All other enrolments
Killara High School is currently only able to accept enrolment applications from students that reside within our catchment area. Please check if your residential address is in our catchment area using the NSW Public School Finder.

School contributions
In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.
